Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit mejomiyoga.com or use our services, why we collect it, and what rights you have. It applies to visitors and customers worldwide, including the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the United States.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller responsible for processing your personal data is Mejomi LLC (contact details above). For any privacy question or request, email info@mejomiyoga.com.
2. What data we collect
Data you give us: your name, email address, and any information you share when you fill in a form (for example an application for a teacher training, a discovery call request, or a newsletter signup), book or purchase a service, or contact us by email or social media.
Payment data: payments are processed by our payment providers (see section 4). We receive confirmation of your payment and basic billing details, but we never see or store your full card number.
Data collected automatically: when you visit the website, standard technical data is processed, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and approximate location. Some of this happens through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
3. Why we use your data, and on what legal basis
Under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process personal data on the following legal bases:
To perform a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): handling your bookings, applications, purchases, coaching, online studio membership, trainings and retreats, and communicating with you about them.
With your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): sending you our newsletter and marketing emails, and setting non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time, for example via the unsubscribe link in every email.
Based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): operating, securing and improving the website and our services, and understanding how the website is used, in ways that do not override your rights.
To comply with legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): bookkeeping, tax, and accounting requirements.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed:
Hosting: our website is hosted by Hostinger. Payments: Stripe and Wise process payments on our behalf. Forms and applications: forms may be provided through Google Forms or our website form plugin. Email: our newsletter and email sequences are sent through our email service provider. Online studio: memberships for Mejomi Moves run on theclubb.co, which has its own terms and privacy policy. Embedded content: videos on this site are embedded via YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube (Google) only sets cookies once you press play. Fonts: this website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves a technical request to Google servers. Analytics: we may use Google Analytics to understand website usage in aggregate. Social platforms: if you follow links to Instagram, YouTube or TikTok, their own privacy policies apply.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and, where required, under data processing agreements with us.
5. International data transfers
We operate internationally. Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries outside your own, including outside the EEA. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or, for certified US providers, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
6. Cookies
This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. Where required by law, non-essential cookies are only set with your consent. You can also control and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here: for the duration of our relationship with you, afterwards as required by legal retention periods (for example for invoices and tax records), and for the newsletter until you unsubscribe.
8. Your rights (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given, at any time and without affecting prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, email info@mejomiyoga.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
9. Your rights (United States)
If you are a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. To exercise your rights, email info@mejomiyoga.com.
10. Children
Our website and services are directed at adults and are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take the protection of your data seriously.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add new services or tools. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be announced on this page.
