About Michelle

Every skill I teach started as something I couldn't do.

Hi, I'm Michelle. Yoga and movement teacher, founder of Mejomi Yoga, based in Bali and coaching students all over the world.

If you found me through a handstand on Instagram and assumed I've been doing this forever: I promise you, I haven't. And that's exactly why I can help you.

Where it started

My life looked right on paper.

A corporate insurance job, a clear career path, everything in its place. It just didn't feel right. Movement was the thing that woke me up. I started practicing, then practicing more, and somewhere along the way my mat became the place where I felt most like myself.

So I went all in. I trained, got certified, kept training, and eventually packed my life into a suitcase and moved to Bali. Mejomi Yoga grew from there: first classes, then an online studio, then 1:1 coaching and teacher trainings that bring students together in person from all over the world.

No shortcuts, just drills

I didn't grow up flexible. I built this.

No gymnastics past, no dancer's hips, no natural bend in my spine. Every skill you'll see me do was built from scratch, drill by drill, over years of consistent practice.

But the real reason I practice runs deeper than any handstand. I feel a lot, and my head fills up quickly. On my mat, everything settles. Practice gives me gratitude, steadiness, and a peace I haven't found anywhere else, and passing that feeling on matters more to me than any skill ever will.

The skills I can teach you too, of course. Every plateau you'll hit, I've been there, and I know the way through.

How I teach

Precision you can trust, joy you can feel.

My classes are technical, structured, and full of play. These three things shape everything I do:

01 · Structure

You always know why

Clear plans, honest progressions, and drills that build on each other. You'll understand what you're working on, why it matters, and what comes next.

02 · Patience

We start where you are

Your body today is the starting point, and that's a good starting point. Small steps, taken consistently, take you further than any shortcut ever will.

03 · Play

Progress should feel good

Expect experiments, wobbles, and celebrating the small wins loudly. Practice that feels joyful is practice you'll actually keep showing up for.

Who I teach

Skill chasers, and everyone finding their way back.

Some of my students are working toward something specific: a first handstand, a full split, a press that finally leaves the ground. Others are returning to their bodies after injury, burnout, or years away, and want to feel strong and safe again.

Whether you're one, the other, or a bit of both, you're in the right place. The method is the same: we meet your body where it is and build, step by step, with someone paying real attention.

A few things about me.

  • I'm German, and I coach in both English and German.
  • Home is Bali, where I live with my dog. She makes regular guest appearances in my home practice videos.
  • I'm an E-RYT 500 certified teacher with Yoga Alliance, and I train teachers through my advanced training, The Expansion.
  • Before all this, I worked a corporate insurance job. The structure stuck: I still love a good plan, a good list, and a well-organized spreadsheet.
  • I feel everything deeply. My practice is what keeps me grounded when life gets loud.
  • Give me a scooter and a quiet corner of Indonesia that isn't in any guidebook, and I'm happy.
  • I'm a big believer in simple rituals: morning movement, good food, and time outside every day.
  • My favorite moment in teaching: the look on someone's face the first time a skill they thought was impossible suddenly works.
Let's practice together

The best way to know if we're a match? Practice with me.

Try a full class for free and feel how I cue, how I structure a practice, and whether my energy matches yours. And when you're ready to go deep on your goals, 1:1 coaching is where we build your plan together.
